Orticalab

Orticalab is an online newspaper based in Avellino, Italy. Orticalab has a new, bold, approach in telling the news, adding to the events’s chronicle, a careful look at the regional and national context.

The aim of this project has been to redesign Orticalab’s website and to make the readability of the news sections a lot clearer and easier, as well as to have a functional hierarchy between them, using a balanced and strong typography.

Fonts Choice

Being a newspaper, the choice of the right typeface to use has been based on the strong contrast I aimed to create between the headlines and the paragraphs, in particular to facilitate the readability of the news, both for longer and shorter body copies.

For the internal magazine, called Orticaland, has been designed a pinterest-like layout. The intent has been to have a continuous flow of information and a dynamic categorization of the articles.
